The visual and performing arts were very important to Chris. Always an enthusiastic supporter, her own personal creativity inspired her students as well as her friends and colleagues. Chris challenged her young students and delighted in their achievements. Because of her devotion to creative pursuits Chris would be proud to know that an endowment fund has been established to help expose children to a wide variety of the arts. We hope to raise enough money that, when invested, will generate an annual return for Canadian Martyrs Catholic School, the school from which Chris retired. This endowment will subsidize students in music, theatre and the visual arts to participate in projects not otherwise available to them. The Christina Walters Endowment for the Arts will be guided by school and board representatives, the Walters family, and the artist(s) chosen to oversee the proposed annual student projects which will continue the work to which Chris was so dedicated.
